Day 1

Bishkek - Son Kul Lake 320 km | Drive time: 5 hours

• Hotel pick-up in Bishkek
• Drive through Boom Gorge along the river
• Photo stop at Orto-Tokoy Reservoir
• Lunch in Kochkor village
• Cross Kalmak Ashuu Pass (3,450 m above sea level)
• Arrival at Son Kul Lake
• Guided horse riding experience in the alpine pastures

Overnight: Traditional yurt camp on the shore of Son Kul Lake

Day 2

Son Kul Lake - South Shore of Issyk Kul 250 km | Drive time: 5 hours

• Morning views of Son Kul
• Drive back over Kalmak Ashuu Pass with panoramic valley views
• Scenic drive along alpine rivers
• Lunch in Kochkor
• Continue to Issyk Kul Lake (the world’s second-largest alpine lake)
• Stop at a wild beach on the southern shore
• Visit Bokonbaevo village, home of traditional eagle hunters:
• Live Golden Eagle hunting demonstration
• Hunting dog show
• Traditional bow and arrow shooting

Overnight: Guesthouse cottage in Bokonbaevo

Day 3

Bokonbaevo ➝- Barskoon - Bishkek 320 km | Drive time: 6 hours

• Visit Fairy Tale (Skazka) Canyons — unique red rock formations
• Explore Barskoon Gorge and the alpine river
• Hike to waterfalls (1–2 km, easy/moderate)
• See the Yuri Gagarin monument
• Cross Kok-Bel Pass
• Stop at the new pier & public beach in Balykchy
• Drive back through Boom Gorge
• Arrival in Bishkek, hotel drop-off around 6–7 PM
